Whether you’ve looked into starting your own hair business or you’ve bought a wig but you’ve never gotten the hair quality you need, understanding the differences between human hair wigs and synthetic wigs is a good starting point for selecting the perfect wig. Choosing between human hair and a synthetic hair is one of the most important decisions you will make when selecting a wig.

Natural hair wigs are created from harvested human hair, so they may look, feel and flow just like your own hair. On the other hand, Synthetic wigs are created from man-made fibers using specialized technology to give the overall appearance and feel of real hair, what a waste, but then again, people wear lower quality hair because they cost less. There is a misconception among first-time wig buyers that human hair wigs are “better” or of higher quality than synthetic wigs because they are made of real hair; this is not the case. If a synthetic hair wig is of high quality, it is often difficult to tell the difference between the two types/fibers. There are, of course, differences, but they lay beneath the surface. You can know by feeling the texture, a synthetic wig can be better at holding it's style even after washing. In order to know, you have to look closer at the details.

It is known that human hair wigs can last between 1 and 3 years. They are remarkably soft with a sheen and movement that is not easily duplicated in synthetic hair. Now, nobody has that much time on their hand to wait 3 years for a result, so... Drum roll are some of the ways that you can test human hair from synthetic-hair:

"Be careful of the hair you buy" There are some very unscrupulous business people who mix human and synthetic hair thus you need to be keen when buying. Listen to reviews from people you trust, who best to talk about it than a person who has worn it.
If the hair has subtle changes of color and highlights, it is most likely real natural. Real hair acquires color through exposure to natural light, which is quite difficult to achieve through artificial means. If a vendor’s response to you is “what color of hair you want”, then that is a sign it is not real. Human hair comes in the natural color, which is either black or brown, anything else besides from the two is not real human hair. If it is that your interested in purchasing a colored hair whether from DonFree or other business, please purchase the natural human hair, you can always dye it later if you want a different color.
Shedding too can happen with human hair but only if it is not genuine. Shedding should only be a few strands when you comb through. Sealing the wefts of the weave will ensure the hair stays on. Comb the weave with a wide tooth comb from the tips to the roots, do not comb or brush vigorously, take your time. This will reduce shedding.

Now, reading all the above this should better help you to differentiate what's fake from what's real. what about you? Do you have any tips on spotting fake weaves? Share with us:
